Krug Grande Cuvée
History
The founder of the Krug Champagne House has always pursued a dream. He wanted to enter the champagne business in a big way. Already from a young age Johann-Josef Krug learned the winemaking craft in his home town, the Mosel region. Finally he moved to Paris to realize his dream. He succeeded in doing so by founding the Champagne House, which still produces high-quality champagne every year.
Krug Grande Cuvée
Every year a new version of the Grande Cuvée is created at Krug Champagne House. Each of these editions is unique and surprises with its own special taste. But all of the editions have one thing in common - more quality in champagne production than these bottles have is almost impossible. The champagnes consist of the mixture of over 120 wines from over 10 different ages. From this mixture and then 6 years of storage, the fine and elegant champagnes for which Krug is famous are created.
Flavor
The unique taste of this year's Krug Grand Cuvée begins with a floral freshness. This is followed by the flavors of juicy autumn fruits. Finally, the spicy aromas of almonds and a light Christmas aroma round off the overall taste experience. On the nose, the Grand Cuvée reminds one of toasted bread, a hint of nougat and candied fruit. The long aftertaste of champagne is the crowning touch to this unique taste experience.
