History of origins
Who would have thought that such a brilliant idea would be born in the sauna? Rye bread is a Finnish national dish. So why not combine rye and alcohol to create something new and unusual? These were probably the thoughts of five friends from Finland before they founded a distillery that produces unique whiskies from 100% rye under the name "Kyrö". Kyrö Malt Whisky is one of these special products.
Taste profile
The malt whisky gets a special and intense aroma from the fact that it is matured in American oak barrels and distilled twice. Thus, it convinces with a flavour profile of sweet rye bread, just like the Finnish national dish. This is complemented by the equally sweet notes of honey and red berries. In the finish, the rye whisky says goodbye with a slight spiciness of pepper and the delicate taste of caramel.
